What is the extraordinary regularization?

A measure announced by the Spanish Government that will allow foreign nationals in Spain to regularize their status through an extraordinary procedure, distinct from classic arraigos. Final details will be published by Royal Decree.

Who benefits?

Foreign nationals residing in Spain without a valid permit, especially those who can prove a minimum continuous period of stay in Spanish territory. Exact deadlines will be defined when the Royal Decree is published.

Expected requirements

Although pending normative confirmation, they are expected to include: padrón registration proving continuous stay, absence of criminal records, valid identification, and demonstrable ties to Spain.

How to prepare now

Gather your valid passport, historic padrón records, apostilled criminal record from your country of origin, and any document showing your roots in Spain (contracts, bills, medical certificates). Having the documentation ready lets you file from day one.
